Arnaud Kool

The exhibition

A large canvas in a yellow window, 180 by 140 cm: dark branches and leaves cutting across a hazy landscape. It started with a walk at night, and a moment that happened by chance.

Arnaud Kool found a picturesque place that suddenly felt worth painting. The title says it. Pittoresco: worthy of being painted.

He does not paint the whole scene. He keeps a partial image, a sensation, a fragment of a nature bigger than us. The aim is simple: to make you slow down and look for a while, in the middle of the street.
